Visit siteAmsterdam is a very small city compared to other capitals. The streets are a maze and their direction even change from time to time, making driving a challenge even for locals, and taxis are rather expensive. The best way to wander around is by getting a 24, 48 or 72-hour pass for the public transport - you can buy it on the tram. Be advised that only cards are accepted.
